Outbound Calling
Outbound calling is when a CallMangal agent places the call, rather than answering one — a single number, or many as part of a campaign.
How outbound calling works
The workflow itself is built the same way as an inbound one — on the Visual Builder canvas, browser tested before it goes anywhere near a real number. What differs is the entry point: instead of waiting for a caller to dial in, the agent initiates the call.
Outbound calling covers two shapes:
- A single outbound call — the agent calls one number, for example to follow up on a specific enquiry.
- A campaign — the same workflow is run against a list of contacts, one call at a time.
Credits and outbound calling
Outbound calls draw against your Mangal Credits balance the same way inbound and browser-test calls do. A campaign against a large contact list with a small balance will stop partway through — check the balance before starting, not after it stops.
What gets captured
Each outbound call produces the same kind of information an inbound call does: a recording and transcript where enabled, any fields the workflow was built to capture, and a call outcome. For a campaign, that becomes a result per contact rather than a single result — useful for seeing which calls connected, which were declined or unreachable, and which need a follow-up.
Human handoff on outbound calls
The same principle applies as inbound: define when the call should move to a person — if the contact asks something the workflow was not built to answer, if they ask for a callback from a specific person, or if the conversation goes somewhere sensitive.
