Captured Variables
When a call uses a workflow with extraction variables defined, the values the agent captures during the conversation are attached to that call's record — visible on the call's detail page alongside the transcript and recording.
Why this matters
A transcript tells you what was said. Captured variables give you the same information as structured fields — a name, a requirement, a budget, a preferred callback time — without needing to read the conversation to find them.
Where they come from
Captured variables are defined per workflow in the Visual Builder. What's captured on any given call depends on what that call's workflow was built to extract — different agents can capture different fields.
Using captured data
Because captured variables are structured, they're what makes filtering and reviewing calls at volume practical — see Engagement & Enquiry Filtering.
