Introduction
CallMangal is an AI voice agent platform for business calling. You build an agent that can answer incoming calls, make outgoing calls, and hold a conversation in your customer's language — then review what happened on every call afterwards.
CallMangal is developed and operated by START DESIGNS.
What an AI voice agent does
An agent is not a recorded message and not a phone menu. It is a conversation:
- it answers or places a call,
- follows a workflow you designed,
- asks the questions you told it to ask,
- captures the answers as structured data,
- and hands the call to a person when your rules say it should.
Everything the agent does on a call is defined by you, in a workflow you can see and change.
How the platform fits together
| Piece | What it is |
|---|---|
| Agent | The thing that talks to your customer. It has settings, a language, a voice, and a workflow. |
| Visual Builder | Where you design the conversation as a workflow of connected nodes, rather than one long prompt. |
| Business context | A shared node holding what the agent knows about your business, so you set it once instead of repeating it. |
| Guardrails | Explicit instructions and limits the agent must follow on every call. |
| Extraction variables | The fields you want back from a call — intent, budget, callback time, outcome. |
| Browser test | Talking to the agent from your browser, before any phone line is involved. |
| Calls | The record of what happened: recording, transcript, captured data and outcome. |
| Credits | How calling is paid for. See Mangal Credits. |
Call types
CallMangal supports three ways a conversation can happen:
- Inbound — the agent answers a call to your number.
- Outbound — the agent places calls, for example in a campaign.
- Browser (WebRTC) — a conversation in the browser, used both for testing and for voice on a website or internal tool.
Languages
Agents support 32+ languages, including 12 Indian languages such as Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi, and handle the mixed Hindi–English speech ("Hinglish") most Indian callers actually use. Which languages are active for a given agent is configured per agent depending on your requirements.
Set expectations from a real call
The fastest way to understand what your agent will actually sound like is a browser test. Do that before configuring a phone number.
Direct customers and reseller clients
CallMangal serves two kinds of account, and a few things differ between them:
- Direct customers manage their own organisation and top up their own credits.
- Reseller clients belong to a reseller. Their credits are transferred to them by their reseller rather than bought directly, and their agents may be locked so they can use them without changing the configuration.
If you are a reseller — an agency, IT service provider or telecom partner running CallMangal under your own brand — start at the Reseller Overview.
